I'm in the process of trying to re-finish the outside of my truck camper. I'm currently attempting to fiberglass the front portion of it - parts that showed the most wear over the last year and a bit. I just really haven't ever done much fiberglassing. I did a TINY amount last year on a small portion of the front of the roof, but that's it. I haven't even really worked with epoxy that much before. Some, but not much. Boy oh boy… what a sticky, messy, difficult situation. How hard could it be to glue down a flexible sheet of fiberglass to a (mostly) flat panel? A lot harder than I thought.

What makes it "hard" though? Trying to make the mother scratcher perfect makes it hard. Perfect is impossible. I've rarely done this particular thing before. Even things I've done 100 times, I still mess up (though with less regularity than I used to). Perfect is a star a million light years away that may or may not still be there and may or may not be the same star I was looking at yesterday. Hard to tell without all sorts of machinery and computers that I don't possess. Maybe those machines don't really exist either… pretty "woo-woo", but there's also some logic to it.

You know what else I haven't ever done before? Today. I've done many days like it, but I haven't lived today yet. Probably oughta think about giving myself grace for that as well.
