All Your Humanity Is Welcome Here

The title of this post is something I heard in a meditation from Jeff Warren. I use the Calm App not daily, but as daily as I can to try and grab 10 minutes a day of meditation. It's a thing that's worked well for me and gives me back more than it costs. The juice is definitely worth the squeeze. I was thinking about this quote this morning as I was about to sign on for my virtual therapy session. I haven't done face to face therapy in quite a while (since back when I was still in the addiction recovery program at Kaiser), but when I was in the hospital, I asked for a referral. It seemed prudent. Therapy has helped with stressful situations, and probably as much as the actual therapy, setting aside time to process / work on the mental & emotional side of things like this health problem I'm facing.

On a positive note, I do feel slightly physically better today. My leg feels a little less shitty and my lungs as well. Definitely not anywhere close to 100%, but a little bit better. Maybe it's mental? Hard to say. My L ankle feels less swollen today, which can only be positive, I think. It's also a never-ending loop / infinity sign / snake eating its tail - the relationship between the mental, physical, spiritual, emotional. So, even if it's "just" mental, it'll still help elevate the other areas.

I have my follow-up with my primary care doctor today. I think I have my list of questions ready… always feels weird going in there with a list, but it's how I have to do it. Definitely can't remember all that stuff without it. Whatever works, I would say.

Onward w/ gentleness, humor, love and respect.
